Photo Shoot

Last week I dressed Adah in a beautiful white dress and took her outside to try and capture her 6-month-old essence with the camera.  I got the idea from our friends who had a photo of each of their three children taken when they were 6 months old.  They now have them framed in their bedroom and I love looking at the pictures knowing what the 7, 5 and 2 year old kids are like now!  Yes, I am very sentimental and this whole 6 month milestone is a big, exciting, sentimental deal for me! Kyle and I are also each writing Adah a letter telling her different truths about her, God's love for her, what she is like now, what we love to do with her, things like that.  If yall know of any other sweet, loving, sentimental, keepsake ideas please do share!

Adah did surprisingly well during the photo shoot and lasted happily for a few minutes.  It was long enough to get these...

And I'm thinking this is the one! I love that you can see her birthmark and dimple which may both disappear at some point.  It's hard to choose just one though!

Flower Bed Makeover

So we have this lamp post with a cute tiny flower bed around it that needed some attention.  Last year we planted holy basil, a cucumber vine and some different annual flowers in it.  This year we decided to plant a bunch of different flower seeds (wildflowers, zinnias among others) along with a few chamomile plants Kyle grew from seed in the greenhouse.  It was so much fun attacking the weeds! There are little green sprouts coming up which is so exciting, especially after having a few freezing, threatening nights.  I am looking forward to the colorful blooms to welcome us and everyone else who visits the farm as we pull down the drive!

6 Months

Baby girl Adah Lynn turned 6 months old on Tuesday!  Just within the last week she has started to love her "bumper jumper" that hangs in the doorway. I was beginning to think it wasn't her thing when she surprised us and now can't get enough jump time.  Blowing raspberries is another favorite past time along with sipping water from my glass.  One day I was pouring a glass of water (for myself) and she leaned over and opened her mouth so I thought what the heck and she actually sipped a little, right then and there, from the glass!  And now nearly every time I drink some water she wants some as well.  It is so dang cute.  She is still enjoying avocado and sweet potatoes too.

I baked half of a cake to commemorate her being half a year old.  She didn't quite get to enjoy it but Kyle and I did! Any reason to bake a cake is a good enough reason for me.  We are so thankful for these amazing six months we have had with Adah!  She continues to challenge us, grow us, bless us and amaze us!

First Easter

My parents came up last weekend to visit and celebrate Easter together.  On Sunday the Murray family joined us for an outdoor lunch of salad, quiche and homemade chocolates that the Murrays brought to share.  We could not have asked for better weather!  It was sunny and warm with a cool breeze.  We enjoyed sweet fellowship and rejoiced together in Jesus overcoming death! I had so much fun setting up the outdoor dining area and have hopes of eating outside more often.  This was Adah's first time wearing a new, adorable dress and I so enjoyed seeing her lookin all girly and sweet! It was a lovely weekend and time together!

New Piglets

Sunset Farms added six new little pink members last Friday! Aren't they cute? They were a little freaked out when we went to say hello, I'm sure their new home is a lot to get used to.  We found them sleeping in two separate groups when we first arrived.  Then they joined together and wouldn't leave each other's side.  It is going to be fun to watch these little guys grow and grow!
