Flower Bed Makeover
So we have this lamp post with a cute tiny flower bed around it that needed some attention. Last year we planted holy basil, a cucumber vine and some different annual flowers in it. This year we decided to plant a bunch of different flower seeds (wildflowers, zinnias among others) along with a few chamomile plants Kyle grew from seed in the greenhouse. It was so much fun attacking the weeds! There are little green sprouts coming up which is so exciting, especially after having a few freezing, threatening nights. I am looking forward to the colorful blooms to welcome us and everyone else who visits the farm as we pull down the drive!

6 Months
Baby girl Adah Lynn turned 6 months old on Tuesday! Just within the last week she has started to love her "bumper jumper" that hangs in the doorway. I was beginning to think it wasn't her thing when she surprised us and now can't get enough jump time. Blowing raspberries is another favorite past time along with sipping water from my glass. One day I was pouring a glass of water (for myself) and she leaned over and opened her mouth so I thought what the heck and she actually sipped a little, right then and there, from the glass! And now nearly every time I drink some water she wants some as well. It is so dang cute. She is still enjoying avocado and sweet potatoes too.
I baked half of a cake to commemorate her being half a year old. She didn't quite get to enjoy it but Kyle and I did! Any reason to bake a cake is a good enough reason for me. We are so thankful for these amazing six months we have had with Adah! She continues to challenge us, grow us, bless us and amaze us!

First Easter
My parents came up last weekend to visit and celebrate Easter together. On Sunday the Murray family joined us for an outdoor lunch of salad, quiche and homemade chocolates that the Murrays brought to share. We could not have asked for better weather! It was sunny and warm with a cool breeze. We enjoyed sweet fellowship and rejoiced together in Jesus overcoming death! I had so much fun setting up the outdoor dining area and have hopes of eating outside more often. This was Adah's first time wearing a new, adorable dress and I so enjoyed seeing her lookin all girly and sweet! It was a lovely weekend and time together!

New Piglets
Sunset Farms added six new little pink members last Friday! Aren't they cute? They were a little freaked out when we went to say hello, I'm sure their new home is a lot to get used to. We found them sleeping in two separate groups when we first arrived. Then they joined together and wouldn't leave each other's side. It is going to be fun to watch these little guys grow and grow!

Possibly My New Favorite Season
After a long, cold winter I welcome spring with its colors, life and warmth! The smell of freshly cut grass, the purple blooms of wisteria, the wind whipping through the clothes on the line, yellow butterflies dancing, afternoon walks in the sun, the farm teeming with new life, I am in love. This being Adah's first spring, I think I am more aware of its beauty. She is getting to experience this for the first time and I feel I am too. Yesterday was the first day I got to hang the clothes on the line and it was so sweet having baby clothes mixed in with mine and Kyle's. Adah joined me in the baby carrier, strapped to me, looking up and smiling while I enjoyed the sun and breeze slowly putting up all our clothes. My hope is to use the clothesline as much as possible but I am oh so thankful for our dryer on days when hanging clothes on the line seems impossible or even dreadful. After yesterday I am wondering if it could ever be dreadful, but I know better, those days will come. Happy Spring y'all!
Snowball is very curious of Adah. I am no cat person and I do not trust them for a second. Right after this was snapped I chased her off! Doesn't she look like she is about to pounce in the stroller?!
The greenhouse is overflowing with the hopes of veggies to come! It is so dang exciting! Kyle and Chris have a LOT of planting ahead of them.
Thankfully Adah enjoys walks in the stroller the majority of the time. I am loving getting to dress her in short sleeve onesies and little dresses! It is so sweet getting to see her arms and legs!
One of Kyle's dreams since he was a boy came true for his 24th birthday, he got a remote control airplane! Thanks to family and friends all going in on the gift we were able to surprise him with this plane (which is huge, and so much bigger than the tiny thing I pictured!). He has so enjoyed getting to fly it around the farm during warm (non windy) days. And it is quite entertaining to watch him fly it too!
Sunset Farms has its first crop of blackberries coming this year! Each plant has had to be pruned and trellised. I wish I had some before pictures, they look so good now!
This is Harlon, Jamie and Chris' youngest son. He is awesome. Adah and my walks usually include a tromp through the farm to the Murray's house for a little visit. Harlon says Adah's name so well and he gives the best hugs and he loves to just run around or "go, go, go" as he calls it.
Sweet frozen banana face!
Sweet Eston, their eldest son, enjoying the hammock.
The farm guard dogs, Sali and Belle. I always hope they will see me and come barking and running and walk alongside me for part of the walk home. Isn't this a great accidental shot of Sali's tongue?!
