One of our favorite good food documentary's is Fresh and it is available
to watch online only through Wednesday, February 1st. We wanted to share this with y'all to help explain why we do what
we do. It explains America's food situation so well and in understandable terms. It opened
our eyes in many ways and effected the way we see food and the way we eat. Learning what we did stirred something in us which had a part in bringing us to Sunset Farms in the first place, to give farming a try and to learn more. And now we have a desire to have our own farm so that we can provide good food for people and their families which gets us so excited! You cannot find Fresh on netflix or
anything so this is a pretty sweet opportunity. Please share this with
anyone you think would be interested. You can get to the movie by clicking the link below. Let me know what you think of it!

Anniversary Cake
I wanted to share how our anniversary cake turned out. Honestly I don't remember what our wedding cake tasted like (there was kind of a lot going on) but I know this one was delicious! I also know I could never make wedding cakes for a living, how do they do that, like literally make a cake that big?! And there is no need to worry we shared about half of this with some friends. Thanks Barefoot Contessa for your lovely recipe!

3 Months Old
I cannot believe our Adah Lynn is already three months old today (that is so old!) but at the same time I am shocked she is only three months old. Really?! That's all? She has only been around for three months?
She is all gummy, wide-mouthed smiles these days and she has giggled for us a few times! I am constantly trying to do things to make her laugh and I end up cracking myself up in the process. Her eyes have gotten darker to a deep gray but have yet to turn brown like her mommy's and daddy's eyes. She went to the doctor last Monday and weighed 15 pounds and 5 ounces and measured 25 inches long! She is producing WAY too much saliva and is constantly covered in drool. She loves having her whole fist in her mouth and if she can't manage that then two or three fingers work or on occasion her thumb is just the thing. Kyle and I are truly blessed by her and are amazed by the deep love we have for her. It has us thinking how much greater God's love is for us. Happy 3 months Adah, we love you sweet child! These are an assortment of recent photos that give a glimpse into Adah's day-to-day life.
(As a side note: I love that with babies every week and every month is something to celebrate. This has made ordinary days into something to be celebrated, as they should be!)

Two Years Ago
In the last two years God brought us through college, to Sunset Farms and He gave us a daughter! His blessings are beyond comparison. I would have laughed if you told me that today Kyle and I would be farmers and that we would want to have our own farm one day! I also would have given you quite a look if you told me that we would be parents this soon! At the time, we figured we would have our first child somewhere around three to five years after being married. God changed our hearts and I am thankful He did.
Today I am recreating our wedding cake which was chocolate with chocolate icing and raspberry filling! I plan to put a "2" on the top in some form or fashion. This is by far my favorite type of cake and I haven't had it since our wedding so I am pretty pumped! I am dreaming of it becoming an anniversary tradition. It's perfect: I love to bake, Kyle loves to eat cake, and in the years to come I'm thinking Adah and her siblings won't mind eating it either! But before I go and get too crazy and commit to opening a bakery or something I will attempt this one cake and see how it goes.
